Ricky DeMello is a member of the firm’s Electrical/Computer and Life Sciences groups. He has experience drafting and further prosecuting patent applications. He has also assisted clients in securely developing IP portfolios, preparing for litigation, and reaching settlements.
Ricky graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Neuroscience in 2010, followed by his position at the school’s Tissue Procurement Facility, where he collected patient tissue from surgeries after informing and receiving consent to do so. Ricky used his experience connecting with patients and researchers to hear law school as his calling, specifically patent law. Ricky graduated from the University of St. Thomas School of Law at the end of 2014 and began working on patent applications in the Spring of 2015.
After a number of years of practice, Ricky proved his tenacious love of learning by returning to school to expand his technical field of study to Electrical Engineering. He received a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from New York University Tandon School of Engineering in Fall 2022. He joined Thomas | Horstemeyer in Spring, 2023, and is also involved in various professional networks, including the GAPABA (Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association), the AABANY (Asian American Bar Association of New York), and the NAPABA (the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association).
